Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, we will extend a warm welcome and transfer you to your hotel. For your convenience, we suggest accommodations in either Moshi town or Arusha, as the Arusha National Park is located quite a distance away. In either of these charming towns, you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with your knowledgeable guide, who will provide you with detailed insights into the forthcoming climb, scheduled for the following day.

Day 2 : Momela Gate to Mariakamba Hut

As the sun graces the morning sky, you'll begin your day with a hearty breakfast, preparing for the adventure that lies ahead. From there, we'll embark on a scenic drive to Momela Gate, where the journey truly commences. Here, you'll complete the necessary registration, all the while relishing a captivating game drive en route to the starting point.

Upon arrival at the starting point, a brief pause will be observed as our diligent porters meticulously organize their equipment in readiness for the hike. This interlude provides you with a moment to meet your designated ranger, a key member of our team for the hike. Once all preparations are in place, your thrilling ascent will commence.

Throughout this phase, you'll have the invaluable company of a ranger escort, enhancing your chances of encountering magnificent wildlife such as elephants, zebras, and graceful giraffes amidst their natural habitat.

After 4-6 hours of exhilarating trekking, we will reach the welcoming haven of Miriakamba Hut. Here, you can relish a well-deserved dinner and find solace for the night as you prepare for the adventures that await on the morrow.

Day 3 : Mariakamba to Saddle Hut

As the dawn breaks on our second day, you'll rise with the sun, invigorated by a nourishing breakfast, setting the stage for another day of exploration. The day unfolds with a hike that, while relatively short, introduces a steep ascent leading you to the esteemed Saddle Hut.

En route to this destination, you'll be treated to awe-inspiring vistas of the majestic Meru Crater and the formidable Ash Cone, showcasing the remarkable geological marvels that adorn your path. The journey will demand 3-5 hours of your time, immersing you in the enchanting landscapes of Mount Meru.

Upon your arrival at Saddle Hut, you can anticipate a sumptuous dinner and comfortable lodgings, providing you with the restful respite necessary to prepare for the next stage of your remarkable adventure.

Day 4 : Saddle Hut- Summit – Saddle- Momella Gate

The grand culmination of your adventure begins in the wee hours of the morning, precisely at 1:30 am. With a determined spirit and a steep incline ahead, you commence your ascent towards the summit.

As the journey unfolds, you'll reach this pinnacle just as the sun graces the horizon, unveiling a breathtaking vista that embraces the magnificent peak. With a stroke of luck, you may even be treated to the splendid sight of Kilimanjaro Peak in the distance.

The path ahead leads you along a captivatingly narrow ridge, an exhilarating experience in itself, before you gradually initiate your descent. A well-deserved break for lunch awaits you at the Saddle Hut, reenergizing you for the journey ahead.

Continuing your descent, you'll make your way to the Momella Gate, where you'll bid farewell to your dedicated guides and porters who have accompanied you on this remarkable journey.

With your spirits high and the memories of Mount Meru etched into your soul, you'll embark on your journey back to Moshi or Arusha, eagerly anticipating a relaxing shower at your hotel, a fitting conclusion to your unforgettable expedition.

Day 5 : Departure Day

The start of your day calls for an early rise, followed by a hearty breakfast, as you prepare to depart from the vibrant locales of Moshi or Arusha. Your journey will lead you to Kilimanjaro International Airport or your chosen next destination, each step carrying the memories and experiences of your Mount Meru climb.

Should you seek further adventures, Mt. Meru climb serves as an excellent prelude before venturing into the majestic Kilimanjaro ascent. Alternatively, you may opt for a safari excursion or a tranquil sojourn to the idyllic island of Zanzibar.

  • Camping fee. Machame route is a comping route, and it uses tens for accommodation.

  • Tips for the guides and porter. It is customary for satisfied clients to tip their guides and porter, but this is not compulsory. The amount is at the client’s discretion. Clients are advised to budget from $100-$200 each but this will highly be influenced by the number of days and crew size.

GUIDES AND PORTERS

Our guides are trained in high levels of first aid and will be monitoring you all the way up the mountain, checking your oxygen levels, pulse. They carry emergency oxygen if anyone should need it. Our overall success rate of reaching the summit with Everyday Safari guides is 98%! Our guides and mountain crew are awesome at motivating climbers with their positive spirit by singing and encouraging them all the way to summit.

EMERGENCY AND RESCUE

Our trained guides provide first aid and rescue services, as well as emergency oxygen. In case of an emergency, the Kilimanjaro National Park will send a car to Horombo, and the climber will be taken to the nearest hospital. Climbers are advised to have their own medical insurance as the package does not cover costs at the hospital in case of an emergency.

MINORS

Minors 10-15 years are eligible for reduced park fees resulting to lower cost.

PARK FEES

Fees shown above are according to the current Kilimanjaro National Park fees set by the government. There has not been an indication of increase in park fees, but this can sometime happen without warning but if this happens, we will have to add the increased park fees. All efforts will be made to alert you earliest possible if this happens.

DEPOSIT

A deposit of $100 non-refundable fee is required per climber. This will be reduced from the final bill.
