Itinerary

Day 1 : Kilimanjaro International Airport

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a representative will be there to whisk you away to your accommodation. We suggest setting up camp in either Moshi town or Arusha, given the considerable distance to Arusha National Park.

Here, you’ll rendezvous with your guide who will provide a detailed rundown of the thrilling climb that awaits you the following day. This is the start of an adventure you won’t soon forget!

Day 2 :Momela Gate to Mariakamba Hut

As dawn breaks, you’ll start your day with a hearty breakfast before setting off for Momela Gate. Post-registration, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to the trailhead, spotting wildlife along the way. At the trailhead, there’s a flurry of activity as porters prepare their gear for the journey ahead.

While waiting for your ranger to join, you’ll have a chance to soak in the anticipation and excitement that fills the air. Once all the preparations are complete, your adventure truly begins. With a ranger leading the way, you’ll have the opportunity to see majestic creatures like elephants, zebras, and giraffes in their natural habitat.

After 4-6 hours of trekking through breath taking landscapes, you’ll arrive at Miriakamba Hut. Here, you’ll unwind with a delicious dinner and settle in for the night, ready to continue your journey the next day. This is more than just a hike; it’s an unforgettable experience that immerses you in the beauty and wonder of nature.

Day 3 : Mariakamba to Saddle Hut

On the morning of day two, an early rise will kickstart your adventure. Following a hearty breakfast, you'll embark on your trek. This leg of the journey entails a brief yet invigorating ascent to Saddle Hut.

Along the path, you'll be treated to breathtaking vistas of the Meru Crater and Ash Cone, adding to the awe of your journey. Plan for a 3-5 hour hike today, immersing yourself in the natural beauty that surrounds you.

When the day's explorations come to an end, you'll relish a well-deserved dinner and find comfortable lodgings at Saddle Hut.

Day 4 : Saddle Hut- Summit – Saddle- Mariakamba

An early start, precisely at 1:30 am, will mark the beginning of an exhilarating ascent, characterized by a steep incline. The grand reward for your efforts? Reaching the summit just as the sun gracefully makes its ascent, unveiling a breath-taking panorama of the peak and, if fortune favours us, even capturing the majestic Kilimanjaro Peak in the distance.

Your journey will then lead you along a splendidly narrow ridge line, an experience that will leave you in awe. As you descend, you'll pause for a well-deserved lunch at Saddle Hut. From there, your path will take you all the way to Mariakamba, where a warm dinner and comfortable accommodations await.

Day 5 : Mariakamba Hut- Momella Gate

The following morning, as the sun graces the horizon, you'll prepare for your descent. After a satisfying breakfast, your journey will take you to the Momella gate.

Here, you'll bid farewell to your dedicated guides and porters who have accompanied you on this incredible adventure. Your next destination: Moshi or Arusha, where your comfortable hotel room awaits, promising a rejuvenating and well-deserved hot shower.

Day 6 : Departure Day

Early in the morning, after a hearty breakfast, it's time to bid farewell to Moshi or Arusha. Your journey will take you to Kilimanjaro International Airport or your next chosen destination.

Climbing Mt. Meru can serve as an excellent prelude to your Kilimanjaro adventure, or you might opt for an exciting safari or a relaxing holiday on the enchanting island of Zanzibar. Whatever you decide, Everyday Safaris is here to accompany you on your next remarkable journey.

  • Transport from Babylon Lodge to the Kilimanjaro National Park gate on the day you will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro
  • Kilimanjaro National Park fees
  • Camping fee. Machame route is a comping route, and it uses tens for accommodation.
  • All the camping equipment; tents, mattresses, camping table and camping stools.

  • Fees for our well-trained, experienced, charming English-speaking guides
  • First aid kit and oxygen that will be used in case of an emergency.
  • Honest and hardworking porters who will help you carry your bags, food, and other needed items on the mountain.
  • All the cooking utensils and other equipment that are used on the mountain.
  • Transport from Kilimanjaro National Park gate to Babylon Lodge when you climb down from Mt. Kilimanjaro.

  • Tips for the guides and porter. It is customary for satisfied clients to tip their guides and porter, but this is not compulsory. The amount is at the client’s discretion. Clients are advised to budget from $100-$200 each but this will highly be influenced by the number of days and crew size.

GUIDES AND PORTERS

Our guides are trained in high levels of first aid and will be monitoring you all the way up the mountain, checking your oxygen levels, pulse. They carry emergency oxygen if anyone should need it. Our overall success rate of reaching the summit with Everyday Safari guides is 98%! Our guides and mountain crew are awesome at motivating climbers with their positive spirit by singing and encouraging them all the way to summit.

EMERGENCY AND RESCUE

Our trained guides provide first aid and rescue services, as well as emergency oxygen. In case of an emergency, the Kilimanjaro National Park will send a car to Horombo, and the climber will be taken to the nearest hospital. Climbers are advised to have their own medical insurance as the package does not cover costs at the hospital in case of an emergency.

MINORS:

Minors 10-15 years are eligible for reduced park fees resulting to lower cost.

PARK FEES

Fees shown above are according to the current Kilimanjaro National Park fees set by the government. There has not been an indication of increase in park fees, but this can sometime happen without warning but if this happens, we will have to add the increased park fees. All efforts will be made to alert you earliest possible if this happens.

DEPOSIT

A deposit of $100 non-refundable fee is required per climber. This will be reduced from the final bill.
