UPON ARRIVAL DAY 0

Your Kilimanjaro adventure commences with a warm reception at Kilimanjaro International Airport. We'll whisk you away to the charming town of Moshi, where your first night will be spent. There, at your hotel, you'll meet your experienced guides, and an informative briefing will unfold. Should you find yourself lacking any essential equipment for your upcoming ascent, fret not – there's a window of opportunity.

The day presents a chance to journey into Moshi town, where you can explore rental shops and make any last-minute purchases for forgotten items. Afterward, you'll retreat to your hotel for a relaxing evening and a delicious dinner.

In case of late arrivals, this process can seamlessly transition to the morning, just before you embark on your climb. Your comfort and preparedness are our top priorities.

Day 1 : Londorossi Gate To Mti Mkubwa Camp

  • Transport: 1.7 hours, 80 km
  • Hiking time: 3 - 4 hours
  • Ascent: 535 m
  • Max. Altitude: 2895 m

The day begins with a hearty breakfast, preparing you for the adventure ahead. Once you've enjoyed your morning meal, it's time to bid farewell to your hotel. You'll be whisked away to Londorossi Park Gate, the starting point of your journey.

Here, our diligent porters will meticulously prepare and pack our supplies and your luggage. With everything in order, your ascent kicks off, following the forest trail. Your destination for the night is the Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) campsite, nestled at 2,895 meters above sea level.

Here, you'll rest and recharge, surrounded by the natural beauty of Kilimanjaro's slopes. Your day will be complete with a satisfying array of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring you're energized for the challenges and wonders that lie ahead.

Day 2 : Mti Mkubwa Camp To Shira 1 Camp

  • Hiking time: 5 - 6 hours
  • Ascent: 605 m
  • Max. altitude: 3500 m

As our adventure unfolds, we head eastward, traversing the expansive Shira Plateau that treats us to breathtaking vistas, including the magnificent sight of Shira Cathedral.

Our path leads us through moorland meadows, a serene and picturesque environment. We'll journey until we reach Shira 1 Camp, our haven for the night, perched at an elevation of 3,500 meters.

Here, under the starry African skies, we'll enjoy a hearty dinner and settle into our campsite. The temperature may drop further tonight, potentially reaching below freezing, so be prepared for a chillier evening compared to the previous night. The day's meals, encompassing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensure you remain nourished and energized for the exciting experiences that await you.

Day 3 : Shira 1 Camp To Shira 2 Camp

  • Hiking time: 3 - 4 hours
  • Ascent: 310 m
  • Max. altitude: 3810 m

Our journey today leads us to the summit of Shira Cathedral, a colossal rock buttress enveloped by towering spires and pinnacles. As we ascend this natural wonder, a profound sense of wilderness envelops us, particularly when the afternoon mists gently cloak the surroundings.

We'll set up camp near Shira Hut, allowing us to savor the unforgettable panoramic views of Mount Meru. These awe-inspiring sights will accompany us throughout the day as we explore this remarkable terrain.

To keep you fueled and energized, we'll provide you with meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring you're ready for the adventure that lies ahead.

Day 4 : Shira 2 Camp To Moir Hut

  • Hiking time: 6 - 7 hours
  • Ascent: 390 m
  • Max. altitude: 4200 m

The moorland gradually fades from view as we embark on a moderate incline, guiding us across the elevated Shira Caldera.

Along the way, we'll be treated to magnificent vistas of the Arrow Glacier, creating a picture-perfect backdrop. Our campsite for the night will be at Shira Cave, nestled at an elevation of 4200 meters.

This high-altitude location offers a unique setting for our evening stay, surrounded by the wonders of nature. As always, we'll provide you with nourishing meals to keep you energized throughout the day. You can look forward to enjoying breakfast, lunch, and dinner against this breath-taking backdrop.

Day 5 : Moir Hut To Pofu Camp

  • Hiking time: 7 - 8 hours
  • Ascent: 500 m
  • Descent: 680 m
  • Max. altitude: 4700 m

Our journey leads us out of the captivating Moir Valley, and we make a brief side trip to conquer the summit of Lent Hills, perched at 4700 meters. At this vantage point, you'll be treated to awe-inspiring panoramas that are sure to leave a lasting impression.

After taking in the breathtaking views, we rejoin the main trail and continue our eastward route along the Northern Circuit. The remaining part of today's hike meanders through a series of undulating terrains until we arrive at the site of Pofu Camp.

Amidst this stunning natural setting, we'll provide you with three square meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner, to keep your energy levels up throughout the day.

Day 6 : Pofu Camp TO Third Cave Camp

  • Hiking time: 6 - 7 hours
  • Descent: 60 m
  • Max. altitude: 4020 m

Leaving Pofu Camp behind, we traverse a succession of small valleys, following the trail through a terrain that gradually becomes more arid, with vegetation becoming sparser.

Our journey continues until we reach Third Cave Camp, where you can rest and rejuvenate. You'll be treated to three hearty meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – ensuring you have the energy needed to tackle the day's challenges and savor the surrounding natural beauty.

Day 7 : Third Cave Camp To School Hut

  • Hiking time: 5 - 6 hours
  • Ascent: 830 m
  • Max. altitude: 4790 m

Our trek today involves a steady climb, leading us to the Saddle, a surreal landscape nestled between the towering peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi.

As we continue our ascent, we eventually arrive at School Hut in the early afternoon. The remainder of the day is dedicated to rest and preparations for the upcoming summit day.

You'll be provided with nourishing meals throughout the day, ensuring you have the strength and stamina required for this final push to the summit.

Day 8 : School Hut To Uhuru Peak To Millennium Camp

  • Hiking time: 14 - 16 hours
  • Ascent: 1105 m
  • Descent: 2068 m
  • Max. altitude: 5895 m

The most challenging phase of our journey begins at approximately 1 am. We embark on the final ascent, following a switchback trail that winds its way through loose volcanic scree.

This arduous climb leads us to the crater rim, where Gillman's Point awaits. Here, we take a brief respite, marveling at the breathtaking sunrise unfolding over Mawenzi. Our path continues, guiding us towards Uhuru Peak, taking us in proximity to the majestic glaciers and formidable ice cliffs that still dominate the summit area.

Retracing our steps along the crater rim, we make our way to Stella Point before descending through Barafu Camp. At Barafu Camp, our dedicated porters will be ready with a nourishing packed lunch to refuel us for the journey ahead. The descent continues until we reach Millennium Camp, where we'll spend the night.

Day 9 : Millennium Camp To Mweka Gate

On the final day of your remarkable trekking adventure, we set out after a hearty breakfast. Descending a further 1300 meters, we make our way to the Mweka Park Gate, where you'll receive your well-deserved summit certificates from the Park Headquarters.

Here, a brief celebration awaits, offering you the chance to express your gratitude to the dedicated guides and porters who have been instrumental in your journey. It's also the ideal moment to provide tips as a token of your appreciation.

We'll commemorate your achievements with your guides and porters before bidding farewell. Afterward, we'll transfer you to our comfortable hotel for a refreshing shower and a celebratory evening.

Day 10 : Departure

Following a well-deserved night's rest, it's time to bid you farewell. If you've coordinated airport transfers, a safari adventure, or a trip to the enchanting Zanzibar with us, we'll arrange to pick you up from the hotel, ensuring your onward journey is as seamless as your unforgettable Kilimanjaro expedition.

  • Tips for the guides and porter. It is customary for satisfied clients to tip their guides and porter, but this is not compulsory. The amount is at the client’s discretion. Clients are advised to budget from $100-$200 each but this will highly be influenced by the number of days and crew size.

GUIDES AND PORTERS

Our guides are trained in high levels of first aid and will be monitoring you all the way up the mountain, checking your oxygen levels, pulse. They carry emergency oxygen if anyone should need it.  Our overall success rate of reaching the summit with Everyday Safari guides is 98%! Our guides and mountain crew are awesome at motivating climbers with their positive spirit by singing and encouraging them all the way to summit

EMERGENCY AND RESCUE

Our trained guides provide first aid and rescue services, as well as emergency oxygen. In case of an emergency, the Kilimanjaro National Park will send a car to Horombo, and the climber will be taken to the nearest hospital. Climbers are advised to have their own medical insurance as the package does not cover costs at the hospital in case of an emergency.

3) MINORS:

Minors 10-15 years are eligible for reduced park fees resulting to lower cost.

PARK FEES

  • Fees shown above are according to the current Kilimanjaro National Park fees set by the government. There has not been an indication of increase in park fees, but this can sometime happen without warning but if this happens, we will have to add the increased park fees. All efforts will be made to alert you earliest possible if this happens.

DEPOSIT

A deposit of $100 non-refundable fee is required per climber. This will be reduced from the final bill.
