Overview

Marangu Route: The Classic Kilimanjaro Climbing Experience with Everyday Safaris

Are you looking for the most comfortable and straightforward way to climb Mount Kilimanjaro? The Marangu Route, also known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the only route that offers hut accommodations, making it a popular choice for climbers seeking a less strenuous experience. With a well-established path, gradual ascent, and stunning scenery, Marangu is ideal for both first-time trekkers and those looking for a more relaxed climb. At Everyday Safaris, we offer expertly guided climbs via the Marangu Route to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey to the summit of Africa’s highest peak (5,895m).

Why Choose the Marangu Route?

Comfortable Hut Accommodations

Unlike other routes that require camping, the Marangu Route features dormitory-style huts equipped with beds, mattresses, and communal dining areas. This provides a more comfortable experience, especially for climbers who prefer not to sleep in tents.

Shorter Duration for Faster Climbs

Marangu is the shortest route to the summit, typically completed in five or six days. This makes it a great option for those with limited time but still want to experience the thrill of climbing Kilimanjaro.

Gradual and Well-Established Trail

The Marangu Route follows a steady and gradual ascent, making it one of the easiest routes in terms of terrain. This makes it an excellent choice for beginners and those who prefer a less technical climb.

Stunning Scenery

Although it follows the same path up and down, Marangu still offers breathtaking views, including lush rainforests, alpine meadows, and the spectacular Kibo Crater. The well-maintained trail allows climbers to fully appreciate Kilimanjaro’s diverse landscapes.

Best for Budget-Conscious Climbers

Since Marangu is a shorter route and does not require camping gear, it is generally more affordable compared to other routes. This makes it a cost-effective choice for adventurers looking to climb Kilimanjaro on a budget.
