Starting from the Marangu Gate, you’ll hike through lush rainforest, spot wildlife, and reach the famous Mandara Hut or the scenic halfway point of Kisambioni, before descending back to the gate. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that gives you a real taste of Kilimanjaro — all without overnight camping.
Your guide will collect you from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi and drive you to Marangu Gate (approx. 2–3 hours from Arusha, 1 hour from Moshi).
Register at the park entrance and meet your mountain crew. After a briefing, begin your hike through the lush rainforest, home to the Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and tropical birds.
This halfway point is perfect for those who prefer a shorter hike. The trail winds through beautiful forest scenery with occasional clearings revealing views of Kilimanjaro’s towering slopes.
