Many camping routes descend through the Mweka side after the summit attempt. By then climbers may have been awake and moving for many hours, so the descent demands concentration even though breathing gradually becomes easier.
Stella Point and Gilman's Point are separate crater-rim landmarks on Kilimanjaro, while Uhuru Peak is the mountain's highest point at 5,895 metres. Reaching the rim is a major achievement, but it is not automatically the same as reaching Uhuru.
